Magadi Fort has the distinction of being the lone surviving private citadel of the Yelahanka Nadaprabhus. Dating back to the 17th century, the fort was constructed by Immadi Kempe Gowda (Kempe Gowda II) after he established his capital at Magadi. The Project involves conservation of the Kote (Fort), Garadi Mane (Wrestling Training Centre), Kandaka (Moat) and installation of Gateways designed in the 17th century later KarVijayanagara tradition. Additionally, the historic precinct is reimagined as a public space with an open house narratorium introducing the local population who are the primary stakeholders to the historicity of the place and contributions of Immadi Kempe Gowda and his decendants.
